April Session 1817

Ordered that Keziah Alexander have leave of administration on the estate of Hezekiah Alexander and has entered bond in the sum of four hundred pounds James Dillin & Spencer Midyett security.

Ordered that Keziah Alexander administratrix to the estate of Hezekiah Alexander sell the perishable part of said deceased agreeable to law and make returns to next term.

Ordered that Brittian Hoskins Spencer Midyett & John Alexander Senr. lay off to Keziah Alexander widdow of H. L. Alexander deceased one years provision out of the estate of said deceased & make return to next court.

July Session 1817

Keziah Alexander administratrix of the estate Hezekiah Alexander returned to court the inventory & account of sales & filed.

July Session 1819

Ordered that Samuel Spruill John Thoroughgood & James Swain be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Hezekiah Alexander with the administrator & make return to next term.

October Session 1819

Report of auditors on the estate of Hezekiah Alexander deceased was returned to court ballance due the estate $29.54 ct & ordered filed.

October Session 1820

Ordered that Spencer Midyett be allowed two hundred and fifty dollars for board & clothing of Franklin, James Spencer & Nancy orphans of Hezekiah Alexander as per account allowed by the court & filed.

Ordered that the sheriff summons a lawfull jury to ? on the premises of Hezekiah Alexander deceased and lay off the dower of Keziah Midyett once the wife of said Alexander and make return to next term - no petition being filed.

January Session 1821

Henry Alexander returned in open court the dower of Keziah Alexander in the lands of Hezekiah Alexander deceased & filed.

January Sesion 1822

Spencer Midyett returned in court an account of the rent of land belonging to the heirs of Hezekiah Alexander up to 1822 - to amount of $70..6 cents also the ballance due said heirs on the audited accounts to amount $29..46 cents total amount $103.52 & filed.

Spencer Midyett was appointed guardian to Franklin Jordan & Spencer Alexander orphans of Henry Alexander who entered into bond in the sum of two hundred & fifty pounds with John Bryant and Lewis Combs his securities ordered that he receive the estate of said orphans into his possession & account for the same as the law directs. {Error by the clerk. These are the orphans of Hezekiah Alexander, not Henry Alexander.}

April Session 1822

The following persons appeared in open court and renewed their guardian bonds as the law requires viz. - Joshua Spruill guardian to James S. Spruill Joshua Spruill guardian to Franklin Spruill Silby Wynne guardian to Mahala Wynne Richard Lucas guardian to Harriate Fuller Patsey Etheridge to Elizabeth Etheridge Spencer Midyett guardian to Franklin, Jordan & Spencer Alexander - all of whom entered into bonds with approved security & their several bonds filed.

January Session 1827

Ordered that John Brickhouse of Wm. be appointed guardian to Franklin James & Spencer D. Alexander heirs of Hezekiah Alexander deceased & that he enter into bond.

January Session 1829 returned the account of rent of land of the heirs of Hezekiah Alexander for the year 1829 & 1828.

Jno. Brickhouse guardian to Hz. Alexander's heirs returned an account of rent and hire for 1831 & 1832 1833 & 1834 as to land.

Bond dated 14 Apr 1817 in the amount of five hundred pounds appointing Keziah Alexander administratrix of the estate of Hezekiah Alexander deceased, James Dillon & Spencer Midyett securities.

Court order April term 1817 that Brittan Hoskins Spencer Midyett & John Alexander Senr. lay off to Kizziah Alexander widdow of Hez. L. Alexander Esqr. deceased one year's provisions out of the estate of the said deceased.

Year's allowance of Keziah Alexander widow of Hezekiah Alexander Esqr. deceased layed off on 16 May 1816.

Summons dated the second Monday in October 1819 and issued 12 Nov 1819 for Jesse Alexander Junr. to appear at the next court term and give cause why execution should not proceed against the lands of Hezekiah Alexander deceased to satisfy a judgement against his estate in favor of Isaac Alexander. Jesse Alexander Junr. is guardian pendente (?) of Franklin Dillon Alexander James Jurdin Alexander Spencer Overton Alexander and Nancy Alexander, heirs of Hezekiah Alexander deceased.

Laying off of the dower of Keziah Alexander, former widow of Hezekiah Alexander deceased and now wife of Spencer Midyett, on 23 November 1820. Hezekiah Alexander had 104 acres of land and 34 acres were set off adjoining Jehue Owens.

An execution against the lands of Hezekiah Alexander deceased on 10 Apr 1821 shows that Jesse Alexander & John Brickhouse were neighbors.

Sale of the lands of Hezekiah Alexander deceased belonging to his heirs to Jesse Alexander for $4.80 per acre on 28 June 1821 to satisfy a judgement in favor of Isaac Alexander. No acreage or total amount listed.

Bond dated 31 Dec 1821 in the amount of two hundred and fifty pounds in which Spencer Midyett is appointed guardian to Franklin Jurdin & Spencer Alexander orphans of Hezekiah Alexander deceased with Joh Bryant & Lewis Combs securities.

Bond dated 3 Apr 1822 in the amount of two hundred and fifty pounds appointing Spencer Midyett guardian of Franklin Jordan & Spencer Alexander orphans of Hezekiah Alexander, with Daniel Bateman & Joseph C. Norcom securities.

Bond dated 24 Jan 1827 in the amount of fifty dollars appointing John Brickhouse of Wm. guardian to Franklin, James & Spencer Alexander minor orphans, Enoch Hassell & David Cahoon securities.

Bond dated 27 Jul 1830 in the amount of two hundred pounds appointing John Brickhouse guardian of Franklin, James & Spender Alexander minor orphans, Enoch Hassell & Peter Brickhouse securities.

The estate papers include numerous documents related to suits by Isaac Alexander against the estate of Hezekiah Alexander and by the estate of Hezekiah Alexander against Matthew Brickhouse, both for debt.
