October Session 1841
Ordered that Samuel Leigh, Benjamin Spruill & Abner Alexander be appointed to audite and settle the estate of Warren Alexander deceased with John McClees administrator.
Ordered that John McClees be appointed guardian to Caroline Alexander infant of Warren Alexander deceased and that he enter into a bond of one thousand dollars with Samuel Leigh & Richard D. Hassell securities.
July Session 1842
Account sales of negro hire of Warren Alexander was returned.

Bond dated 22 Jan 1839 in the amount of one thousand dollars appointing John McClees administrator of the estate of Warren Alexander deceased, Jos. Alexander & Richard D. Hassell securities.
Bond dated 4 March 1839 in the amount of two thousand dollars appointing John McClees special administrator of Warren Alexander deceased, Jos. Alexander & H. G. Spruill securities.
Bond dated 27 Oct 1841 in the amount of one thousand dollars appointing John McClees guardian to Caroline Alexander orphan, Saml. Leigh & R. D. Hassell securities.
Petition October Term 1848 by Frances Alexander & Caroline Alexander by her next friend and guardian John McClees who state that they are tenants in common of about three negros they inherited at the death of Warren Alexander. Petitioners pray a division of the said negroes equally among them.

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Warren Alexander to Fanny Etheridge on 27 Feb 1832, Richard D. Hassell security.
See the 1840 will of Winey Etheridge widow of Samuel Etheridge. In it she has a bequest to her daughter Fanny, widow of Warren Alexander.
