Ansley, Solomon, 1817
Bail Bond for Superior Court dated 9 May 1814 in the amount of five hundred pounds by Solomon Ansley guaranteeing his appearance on the sixth Monday after the fourth Monday in September next to answer to Levi Bateman of trespass to his damage two hundred and fifty pounds.
Summons issued 15 Jun 1814 for Solomon Ansley to appear in Superior Court on the sixth Monday after the fourth Monday in September next to answer Levi Bateman in a plea of covenants broken to his damage two hundred and fifty pounds.
Summons dated 3 Nov 1817 for Joseph Ansley to attend the Superior Court immediately to testify on behalf of the administrator of Solomon Ansley in a case in which Levi Bateman is plaintiff and Solomon Ansley's administrator is defendant.
Execution dated 4 Sep 1820 and issued 24 Oct 1820 against the estate of Solomon Ansley deceased in the hands of his administrator James Ambrose for 14 pounds, four shillings, costs of the suit between his estate and Levi Bateman. Similarly another execution assesses Levi Bateman three pounds and fifteen shillings of costs in the same suit.
Many subsequent executions were issued and the judgements were not satisfied until 1824. The Sheriff sold negroes Mary & Charles from the estate of Solomon Ansley.
