Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
July Session 1830
Ordered that Holiway Armstrong be appointed administrator of the estate of Thankful Armstrong and entered into bond in open court with Demps S. Godfrey, Silas Spruill & Richard Lucas in the sum of $1,200.
Holiway Armstrong administrator of Thankful Armstrong returned an account sales of said estate & filed.
Ordered that D. N. Bateman, David M. Sergeant & Zebulon Tarkenton be appointed auditors to settle the estate of Russel Armstrong with the executor Holiway Armstrong & of Thankful Armstrong with the administrator Holiway Armstrong & report to next term.
October Sesion 1830
Ordered that Jos. Halsey, D. M. Sergent & Zebulon Tarkenton audite and settle the estate of Thankful Armstrong with Holiway the administrator.
January Session 1831
The audited account of Russel Armstrong was returned to court with a balance due the estate from Holway Armstrong the exeutor of three hundred and five dollars & 10/100 ($305.10). Also the audite account of Thankful Armstrong was returned into court with a balance due said estate from Holway Armstrong the administrator of $160.91.

Bond dated 26 Jul 1830 in the amount of twelve hundred dollars appointing Holiway Armstrong administrator of the estate of Thankful Armstrong deceased, Dempsy S. Godfrey & Richard Lucas securities.
Transcriber's Notes:
See the 1823 will of Russell Armstrong which establishes Thankful Armstrong as his wife and the will of Ann Cahoon in 1793 which shows that Thankful was her daughter.
