I Wilson Armstrong of Tyrrell County knowing the uncertainty of life, do make publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament. To wit:

I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Dorcas Armstrong the farm on which we now reside on New Lake and known as the ..... land and willed to me by my beloved wife Nancy Armstrong. Said land bound by the lands of Wm. Cahoon on the north, Elliot Armstrong land on the south, and east by the Dunbar land and on the west by New Lake containing seventy three acres more or less. Also all of my goods and chattles of all and every ... whatever, should she, my well beloved wife Dorcas Armstrong survive me or live the longest. Also one other piece or parcel of land in Hyde County ?Quinse Creek. It being the land I purchased of Benjamin K. Davis. As by reference to said deed will more fully appear containing f..... acres. I give and bequeath to my said beloved wife Dorcas Armstrong should she survive me or live the longest.

A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Wilson Armstrong deceased is exhibited before me the undersigned clerk Superior Coourt for said by Dorcas Armstrong widow and Legatee of the said Wilson Armstrong and the due execution thereof by the said Wilson Armstrong is duly proven by the oath and examination of W L Rud and W S Boomer the subscribing witness thereto who being duly sworn doth depose and say and each for himself deposeth and saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last will and testament of Wilson Armstrong. That the said Wilson Armstrong in the presence of this deponant subscribed his name at the end of said paper writing, which is now shown him as aforesaid and which bears date of 12th day of February 1881. And this deponant further saith that the said Wilson Armstrong the said testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing as aforesaid declare the said paper writing so subscribed by him and exhibited to be his last will and testament. And this deponant did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said will as an attesting witness thereto. And at the request and in presence of said testator and this deponant further said at the same time when the said testator subscribed his name to the said last will as aforesaid and at the time of said deponant subscribed his name as an attesting witness thereto as aforesaid the said Wilson Armstrong was of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a will and was not under any restraint to the knowledge, information or belief of this and further these deponants saith not.

This cause coming on upon the petition of Dorcas Armstrong.

It is adjudged that the paper writing hereto annexed is the last will and testament of Wilson Armstrong deceased. And is ordered by the Court that said last will and testament of the said Wilson armstrong be admited to probate as provided by law.
