In the name of God Amen: I Samuel Blount of Tyrrel County in the Province of North Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory praise be given to Almighty God for it therefore I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, First of all I recommend my soul to the hands of God who gave it, and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discression of my Executors hereafter named and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to help me in this life, I give and demise in the following manner.
Item - I lend the use of two negroes Lot and Duroy to my loving mother Joannah Long during her natural life and at hir death, I give the above mentioned negroes Lot and Duroy to my loving brother William Blount him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my loving brother William Blount one negro girl Febey to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give unto my loving brother William Blount my part of the negro Winde & children that my mother is know persest with to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my loving brother William Blount together all my lands tenements horses hoggs cattle and sheep together with my books and book debts with the residue and remainder of my Estate to him and his heirs and assigns forever- I constitute my loving mother Joannah Long and my brother William Blount Executors to this my last Will and Testament, and I do hereby disannull revoke all other Testaments Wills and Leguases and confirminent this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22 day of September 1778.
