Dated 28 September 1843
The last will and Testament of Thomas H Blount made by him in his own handwriting in his perfect mind & memory
this 28th day of Sept 1843.
I give and bequeath to my Brother Will: A Blount and nephew William Blount Rodman all my estate whether consisting of lands, negroes, debts furniture, crops and all and every Species of property either in the State of No Carolina or elsewhere to them, their heirs Exrs. and assigns from which I wish them to pay my Just & legal debts so far as the Same will go. being desirous that them who have confident in me in pelimary matters should not loose anything throw me by Such confidence I request my Executors to have me buried in my grave yard at Lans San(ci?) & if they shall: from any cause sell my present residence they would except from the Sale the grave yard now bricked, or purchase that part of the land as a general burying ground for my family. I hereby constitute make and appoint my Brother Will: A Blount and my nephew Will: B Rodman Executors of this my will and to gether with my dear wife the Guardians of my children & the estate which they are to receive from the Estate of Jacob Blount, now in possessions of George L. Blount of Pitt county.
Having raised and educated Lousia B Warllington from her infancy to this time & as She has always felt and acted towards myself & family as tho she was my child I bequeath her wellfare in this world to their best services. In witness whereof I set my hand & Seal and as this is my own hand writing & among my valuable papers there is no witnesses .

H J B Clark Clk I L R Mays clerk of the Superior Court for said County do certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of the last well and Testament of Thos H Blount, (with the probate thereto). As appears upon the records of this office Book of Will "G" Pages 226 & 227. L R Mays
The foregoing certificate of L R Mays clerk of the Superior Court of Beaufort County NC attested by his official Seal is adjudged to be correct and sufficient. Let the instrument with the certificates be registered witness my hand this the 14th day of June 1904 G. L. Liverman

Then was the foregoing paper writing produced in open court and Benjamin M. Selby made oath that the Same had been opened in the presence of him and of William O Cain by William B. Rodman and William A Blount and that he was acquainted with the hand writing of Said Thomas H Blount and that the whole and every part of the Said paper writing and of the one annexed was in the proper hand writing of Said Thomas H. Blount. John L Hawks and Fenner B. Satterthwaite Severally make oath that they were Acquainted with hand writing of said Thomas H. Blount and that the said paper writing and every part thereof were in the hand writing of the said Thomas H Blount The said William A Blount and William B Rodman renounces as executors ordered that the Said will be recorded.
