In the name of God, Amen . I, Franklin L. Brickhouse of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being weak of body and of sound mind, memory and understanding, praise be God for the same, do make this my last Will and Testament.

Item - I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sallie N. Brickhouse, her heirs and assign forever all my property real, personal and mixed of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same shall be at the time of my death. My said wife shall collect all moneys due to me at the time of my death including all life insurance money and she shall first pay all my just and honest debts and burial expenses out of the same and she is to have full control of all property and money from all sources whatsoever and she shall use the same to defray expenses in raising and schooling my children and for her own support.

Item - It is my will and desire that she shall not be required by law or by any person to give any bond for the same.

Item - I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife Sallie N. Brickhouse my sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament and also as guardian to my children hereby revoking and making void all and every other Will or Wills at anytime heretofore made by me declaring this as my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof, I the said Franklin L. Brickhouse do hereto set my hand this the 26th day of February, 1887.

Signed, published and declared by the said Franklin L. Brickhouse to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence and at his request, and in the presence of each other have hereto set our names as subscribing witnesses thereto.

The words " And guardian to my children" was underligned before I subscribed my name as witness thereto which was acknowledged by Franklin L. Brickhouse.

In the matter of the will of Franklin L. Brickhouse, deceased:

A paper hereto attached and purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Franklin L. Brickhouse deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned Clerk of the Superior Court for the said county, by Mrs. Sallie N. Brickhouse the executrix therein named, and thereupon the following proof thereof is taken by the oath and examination of C. J. Norman one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and of F. N. Brickhouse and Mark Majette as follows:

C. J. Norman being duly sworn disposes and says that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Franklin L. Brickhouse and that before the testator executed this writing as his last Will and Testament the affiant attested it in the presence and at the request of the said testator now deceased and further states that at the time of the execution the said Franklin L. Brickhouse was in the affiants opinion of sound mind and disposing memory.Affiant further swears that he knows the handwritting of the said testator, deceased, having seen much of his handwriting and the signature of Franklin L. Brickhouse to the instrument now shown him is in the own proper handwriting of the said testator, deceased. Affiant further swears that he knows the handwritting of Thomas W. Swain having often seen him write and having seen much of his handwriting and that the signature of Thomas W. Swain as a subscribing witness now shown him as the last Will and Testament of Franklin L. Brickhouse is in the proper handwriting and that the said Thomas W. Swain is now dead.

And it appearing to the Court that said paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Franklin L. Brickhouse, deceased, was executed more than thrity years ago, it is upon the foregoing proof and testamony of F. N. Brickhouse, son of the testator and Mark Majette considered and adjudged by the Court that the said paper writing and every part thereof is the last Will and Testament of Franklin L. Brickhouse, deceased, and it is ordered that the same with the foregoing examination and this certificate be recorded and filed.
