Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
April Session 1824
On motion ordered that letters of administration be granted to Mary Bryant on the estate of her husband John Bryant deceased.
Ordered that Matthew Brickhouse Senr. Richd. Howett Benjamin Brickhouse and Enock Hassell be appointed commissioners to set off and allot to Mary Bryant widow of John Bryant deceased one years provision out of his estate.
July Session 1824
An inventory and account of sales of the estate of John Bryant deceased was returned in open court by the administrator and filed.
The commission appointed to lay off one years provision for the widow of John Bryant made return in open court and the returns filed.
January Session 1825
An account of the hire of negroes belonging to the estate of John Bryant deceased was returned in court by the administratrix and entered.
January Session 1826
Ordered that Matthew Brickhouse Richard Howett & Benjamin Brickhouse be appointed to audite & settle the estate of John Bryan deceased in account with his administratrix.
April Session 1826
The audited accounts of the estate of John Bryant deceased was returned in open court & ordered to be filed.
July Session 1826
Ordered that Mary Bryan be appointed guardian to Hardy, William, John W. & Amanda Bryant orphans of John Bryan who entered into bond & gave Enoc Hassell & Fred Davenport as security in the sum of one thousand dollars. Henry Alexander sheriff returned into court the dower in land of her deceased husbands estate.
April Session 1827
Polly Bryant returned a guardian account for board clothing & schooling of the children of her deceased husband amount of ninety three dollars which was allowed by the court.
January Session 1828
Enoch Hassell returned the account of the hire of the negroes belonging to the estate of Jno. Bryant for 1828 amount $28.97.
April Session 1828
Ordered that Mary Bryant guardian of Wm., Jno. & Amanda Bryant be allowed ninety dollars for board & clothing of the above named children to this time.
April Session 1829
Ordered that the widow of John Bryant be allowed sixty dollars for board and clothing of John & Amanda orphans of said deceased.
July Session 1829
Mary Bryant guardian to William, Jno. & Amanda Bryant came into open court & renewed her bond & gave for security Jno. Midyett, Enoch Hassell & Hardy Bryant.
April Session 1830
Ordered that Mary Bryant guardian of Amanda & Jno. Bryant be allowed fifty four dollars for board and clothing of the children for the year 1829 & 1830.
Mary Bryant guardian as aforesaid returned an account of hire for the year 1830.
April Session 1831
Mary Bryant guardian to John & Amanda Bryant returned the account of hire for 1831 and that she be allowed sixty dollars for boarding clothing and for the year past.

Mary Bryant returned into open court account of hire for 1832 & a guardian account & ?
July Session 1832
Ordered that Mary Bryant be permitted to renew her guardian bond with E. Mann & D. N. Bateman securities.
April Session 1833
An account of the hire of the estate of Jno. Bryant for the year 1837 (?) was returned into court.
April Session 1834
The hire of the negroes and rent of the land of Jno. Bryant deceased was returned into court for 1833.

Bond dated 24 Jul 1826 in the sum of one thousand dollars appointing Mary Bryant guardian of Hardy Wm. John W. & Amanda Bryant minor orphans, Enoch Hassell & Frederick Davenport securities.
Bond dated 17 Jul 1829 in the sum of five thousand dollars appointing Mary Bryant guardian of John, William & Amanda Bryant minor orphans, Jno. Midyett, Enoch Hassell & Hardy Bryant securities.
Bond dated 23 Jul 1832 in the sum of two thousand dollars appointing Mary Bryant guardian of William John & Amanda Bryant orphans of John Bryant deceased, Ephraim Mann, Daniel N. Bateman & Hardy Bryant securities.
Petition at October Term 1834 by Hardy Bryant William, W, John W Amanda Mary Bryant heirs at law of John Bryant stating that their father John Bryant died seized and possessed of two tracts of land totaling two hundred and two acres more or less that descended to your petitioners. They request a division of this land.
