Dated 17 November 1778
Know all men by these presents that we William Basnite Joseph Alexander and John Twedy am held & firmly bound unto his Excellency Richard Caswell Esqr. the Governer of said State in ye full & just sum of Two Hundred Pound of Lawfull Money of sd. State to be Paid unto the said Richd. Caswell Esqr. or his sucessor or assigns, to the which payments will & truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs Execrs Admnt and every of them jointly & severally frimly by their presents sealed with our seals dated this seventeenth day of November Anno Domini & in ye third year of our Independence.
The Condition of the obligation is such that if the above Bound in William Basnetts Adm or of all & singular the good & chattles rights & credits of John Basnett Dec'd do make or cause to be made a True and Perfect Inventory of all & Singular the goods & Chattles credits of the Dec'd which have or shall come to ye hand knowledge of possesion of ye sd. Wm Basnette or into ye hands or possesion of any other person or persons for him and ye same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited into ye Secretaries Office and one attachted copy thereof to the county court where orders for Admon Passsed within ninety days after the date of these presents and the same Goods chattles and credits and all other the Goods Chattles & Credits of the dec'd at the time of his death which at any time hereafter shall come into the hands of possesion of ye sd. Wm Basnetts or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him do well & truly administer acording to Law and further do make or caused to be made a True and Just Acctg their said Administration within one year after the oath of these presents and all the rest & residue of ye sd Goods Chattles & credits which sall be found & remainng upon ye sd. admint acctg of same being first to examined and allow & by ye Governer's council Gen'l court or county court shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively as ye same shall be due pursant to ye true intent & meaning of ye acts in that case made and provided, and if it shall appear that any will and Testament was made by ye sd. dec'd and ye Exor. or Extrx therin named fo exhibit ye same into court making request to have it allowed & approved of accordingly if the said Wm Basnitts above Bound in being thereunto required, do render and deliver ye sd. Letters of Admon apparbation of such Testament being first had and made in ye sd. court then this obligation to be Void and of none Effect or elect to remain in full force & virtues.

November Session 1778
William Basnet appeared in open court and prayed administration on the estate of John Basnet deceased granted and gave in security Joseph Alexander & John Tweedy in a bond of 200 pounds. Ordered that Mr. Secretary have notice that letters may issue.
