Dated 31 May 1765
In the name of God amen: May the thirty first day 1765 I James Buttler of the County & Province aforesaid being very sick and weak but of perfict mind and memory thank be given to Allmighty God for the same calling to mind the mortality of my body and calling to mind & knowing that it is apointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend in soul into the hand of God that gave it and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life do give demise & dispose of in the manner and form following first I give and recommend by body to the Earth to be buried in a Christain like buriel at the duretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same by the mighty power of God &.
Imprimis - I give and bequeath to my son in law William Wilson one smal pot one smal pewter dish one pewter basson one dozin of Spoons one hand mill a small beed and sheet an ax one hilling hoe one wolling wheele two earthen panns two bolls one sow and one shote ----
Item - I give and beqeath to John Rhoads all the rest of my Estate real and personal after the discharge of my lawfull debts whome I also constitute & appoint sole executors of this my last Will and Testament. And I do hereby disallow bequest by me in any manner hereto fore made & I do hereby acknowledge this and on other to be my last Will and Testament in the presence of us.

June Session 1765
Personally appeared Jehu Nicholls & on his oath proved the last will and testament of James Buttler deceased and saith that he was of sound & disposing mind & memory & that he saw Sarah Morss the other subscribing witness sign at the same time; ordered that the clerk certify the same to the Secretary that letters testamentary issue acordingly.
