Bateman, Harmon, 1833
Petition July Term 1833 by Mary Bateman who shows that Harmon Bateman died sometime in the year 1832 seized and possessed of a tract of land where petitioner now lives and left your petitioner his widow. She prays the Sheriff be ordered to summon a jury of 12 good & lawful men and lay off her dower in the real estate of said Harmon Bateman deceased. She also prays that a guardian ad litem be appointed to the only heir, Kezia Bateman, and that notice be served on them. Joseph Halsey was appointed guardian ad litem.
