Petition April Term 1845 by Ann Caroline Bateman widow of Benjamin Bateman deceased stating that her husband departed this life in September 1844 seized and possessed of a tract of 50 acres on the east side of Scuppernong River joining Armistead Armstrong and others. Petitioner prays that her dower in said land be set apart and alloted to her

Petition April Term 1845 by Ann Caroline Bateman widow of Benjamin Bateman deceased stating that her husband departed this life intestate in September 1844 and no administrator has yet been appointed. Petitioner prays that her year's allowance be alloted to her out of the personal estate.

Court order dated 9 Apr 1845 for the laying off of the dower of Ann Caroline Bateman in the lands of her deceased husband, Benjamin Bateman.

Court order 9 May 1845 for Silas Davenport, Samuel Rogers, David Clayton & D. S. Godfrey to lay off the year's allowance of Ann Caroline Bateman from the personal estate of her deceased husband, Benjamin Bateman.
