I, (Mrs.) Lois Bateman, of aforesaid County and State, being of sound disposing mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and rendering utterly void all will and testaments by me heretofore made:
1. I desire that my body be buried in the grave already prepared for it in the Cemetery by the side of my beloved and deceased husband, Charles Bateman, and that my executor hereinafter named shall have the date of my death carved on the tombstone already placed at said grave, and pay the costs of the same, together with any just debts by me owing at the time of my death, out of the first money coming into his hands belonging to my estate.
2. I hereby appoint and constitute my beloved son, Thomas M. Beasley the executor to this, my last will and testament, to execute each and every part thereof according to its true meaning.
3. I give and devise to my beloved son, Thomas M. Beasley, to him and his heirs forever, that certain lot or
parcel of land with the buildings and improvements thereon, situated in the town of Columbia, and described as follows,
viz:
Beginning on the south side of Main Street at an iron post at the end of and on line with the fence separating the
house and enclosure in which I live from the house and enclosure leased by me to tennants; thence Southwardly along said
fence to Hick's Street; thence Westwardly along Hick's Street to the County Court House Grounds thence Northwardly along
the said County Court House Grounds to the Southwest corner of T. M. Beasley's lot; thence Eastwardly along said
Beasley's lot to the Southeast corner thereof; thence Northwardly along said Beasley's lot to Main Street;
thence Eastwardley along Main Street to the beginning, it being a part of the lot conveyed to me by my deceased husband,
Charles Bateman, and so much of the same as lays to the westward of the said fence separating the two dwelling
houses on said lot.
4. I give and devise to my beloved daughter-in-law, Susie E. Beasley and my beloved granddaughter Roasline
Beasley, jointly, to them and their heirs forever, that certain lot or parcel of land with the buildings and
improvements thereon, situated in the Town of Columbia and described as follows, viz:
Beginning on the South side of Main Street at an iron post at the end of and on a line with the fence separating the
house and enclosure in which I live from the house and enclosure leased by me to tennants; thence Southwardly along said
fence to Hick's Street; thence Eastwardly along Hick's Street to the line of the lot of the Heirs of Margaret LeRoy;
thence Northwardly along the said LeRoy's Heirs line and A. L. Walker's line to the South edge of Main
Street; thence Westwardly along the South edge of Main Street to the beginning, it being part of the lot conveyed to me
by my deceased husband, Charles Bateman, and so much of the same as lays to the Eastward of the said fence
separating the two dwelling houses on the said lot, and being the house and lot I am leasing to tennants.
5. I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Roasaline Beasley, one bed with stead, pillows and covering complete. The first choice of my beds.
6. I give and bequeath to my grandson W. T. Beasley one bed wit stead, pillows and covering complete. The second choice of my beds.
7. I direct , authorize, and empower my Executor herein named as soon after my death as is practicable, to sell the real estate belonging to me at my death, and not herein otherwise disposed of, and to collect all moneys owing to me at my death, and to sell all my chattel property, in fact, to convert all of my estate not hereinbefore disposed of into money, and after paying my burial expenses, all just claims against my estate, and the cost of administering my estate, to apply the balance remaining in his hand to the payment of the following legacies:
8. I give and bequeath to my beloved grandchildren, children of my deceased son, John Beasley, to wit: Lois Virginia Beasley, Belmont B. Beasley, Johnnie S. Beasley, Lucile Isabell Beasley, Raleigh Beasley and Carrie Beasley, one half of the money remaining in the hands of my executor, equally, share and share alike, and should any of my grandchildren above named die before I do, leaving no lawful issue, then the part of such child or children so dying without lawful issue, shall go to the ones surviving equally.
9 I give and bequeath to my beloved son, Thomas M. Beasley the rest and residue of my estate.

Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the said Lois Bateman to be her last will and testament in the presence of us, who at her request and in her presence, and in the presence of each other, do subscribe our names as witnesses hereto.

A paper purporting to be the last Will and Testament of (Mrs.) Lois Bateman deceased, is exhibited before me the undersigned, Clerk of the Superior Court for said County, by T. M. Beasley, the executor therein mentioned, and the due execution thereof by the said Mrs. Lois Bateman by the oath and examination of A. L. Walker and D. O. Newberry the subscribing witnesses thereto; who being duly sworn, doth depose and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith, that he is a subscribing witness to the paper-writing now shown him, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Mrs. Lois Bateman that the said Mrs. Lois Bateman in the presence of this deponent subscribed her name at the end of said paper-writing, which is now shown as aforesaid, and which bears date the 2nd day of Aug 1921.
And the deponent further saith, That the said Mrs. Lois Bateman the testatrix aforesaid, did at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid declare the said paper-writing so subscribed by her, and exhibited to be her last Will and Testament, and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said Will, as an attesting witness thereto and at the request and in the presence of said testatrix. And this deponent further saith, that at the said time of the deponent's subscribing their name as an attesting witness thereto, as aforesaid, the said Mrs. Lois Bateman was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a Will, and was not under any restraint, to the knowledge, information or belief of this deponent; and further these deponents say not.

It is therefore considered and adjudged by the Court that the said paper-writing and every part thereof is the last Will
and Testament of Mrs. Lois Bateman, deceased. Let the said Will, together with the probate, be recorded and filed.
