Cahoon, Timothy, 1841


Petition October Term 1841 by Sally Cahoon who states that her husband, Timothy Cahoon departed this life in 1841 seized and possessed of 50 acres in Gum Neck joining the lands of William Bodwell and the heirs of John Richardson leaving your petitioner, the said Sally his wife, and Phebe, Ann, Abel & Martha. Petitioner prays her dower in the said lands be alloted and set off to her.

Court order the 4th Monday of October 1841 for the sheriff to summon a jury to lay off the dower of Sally Cahoon in the lands of her deceased husband, Timothy Cahoon.

Laying off of the dower of Sally Cahoon in the lands of her deceased husband, Timothy Cahoon, on 18 Dec 1841 by John McClees sheriff and Elikim Swain, Chas. McClees, George Sawyer, George Simmons, Jordin Meekins, Jesse Sikes & Enoch Smith. 11 acres joining John White including the house and other tenements was allotted to Sally Cahoon.
