Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1798
Ordered that Jemima Chapman have leave of administration on the estate of Joseph Chapman deceased and give bond and security in the sum of 1,000 pounds Joseph Snell & Benjamin Phelps & William Basnight securities.
Jemima Chapman administratrix of Joseph Chapman deceased returns in open court on oath an inventory of the estate of the said estate ordered filed.
Ordered that Jemima Chapman administratrix of the estate of Joseph Chapman deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of said deceased and make return to next court.
Ordered that Thomas Fagan have leave of administration on the estate of Joseph Chapman deceased and give bond and security in the sum of 200 pounds Robert Cushing Esquire & William Tarkenton securities.
Ordered that Thomas Fagan administrator of Joseph Chapman deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of said estate and make return to next court.
January Session 1799
Jemima Chapman administratrix of Joseph Chapman deceased returns in open court an account of sales of the estate of said deceased amounting to 44 pounds & 1 shilling ordered filed.
Thomas Fagan administrator of Joseph Chapman deceased returns in open court on oath an inventory of the estate of said deceased ordered filed.
Also an account of sales of said estate to the amount of 11 pounds, 7 shillings & 9 pence ordered filed.
April Session 1799
Thomas Fagan returns in open court an account against the estate of Thomas {Joseph?} Chapman with a ballance due of 25 pounds which was allowed and filed.

This is quite possibly two different estates, but there is only one document in loose estate papers, so it is not easily
determined.
