Summons on 1 March 1827 and issued 25 Jul 1827 for Thomas Smaw & Elizabeth M. Starr to appear at court in September Term next and testify on behalf of Abner Burbank in a matter in which William D. Coakley's executors are plaintiffs and Abner Burbank is defendant.
In the case of William D. Coakley's executors vs. Abner Burbank, Snoad B. Carraway makes oath on 4 Sep 1827 that Thomas Walker is a material witness in the case and a subpoena has been directed to the Sheriff of Washington County but has not been returned.
In the case of W. D. Coakley's executors vs. Abner Burbank in the Superior Court, Abner Burbank makes oath on 4 Apr 1828 that Thos. Snead (?) is a material witness in the case and has been summoned. He expects this witness to prove that the gig for which he understands the suit was brought was in the possession of Jesse Carraway at the time of his death and remained property of the deceased.
Summons dated the first Monday in September 1828 and issued 22 Jan 1829 for Abner Burbank to appear at the Superior Court of Law on the first Monday of March next and pay one hundred and twenty five dollars unto Wilson B. Hodges & Snoad B. Carraway executors of William D. Coakley which they recovered in a suit between them for debt in March 1828.
Execution directed to the Sheriff of Beaufort County dated the first Monday in September 1828 and issued 22 Jan 1829 against the goods & chattels of William D. Coakley deceased in the hands of his executors, Wilson B. Hodges & Snoad B. Carraway, for twenty five dollars & 4 1/2 cents for the cost of a suit brought in Superior Court.
