Cullipher, James, 1815
Bond dated 15 Jan 1815 in the amount of three thousand dollars appointing Stephen Alcock administrator of the estate of James Culipher deceased, William Clough & Josiah Sawyer securities.
Bond dated 15 Jul 1817 in the amount of two hundred and fifty pounds appointing Leah Cullifer guardian to William Cullifer orphan of James Cullifer deceased, Jno. Simmons & Henry German securities.
Transcriber's Notes:
Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of John Simmons to Rebecca Cullifer on 31 Jul 1815, Abel Sikes security.
The 1810 census shows there are 2 males under 10, 2 females under 10 and 2 females 10 to 16 in the household of James Cullipher,
who is the only Cullipher listed in the census. The John Simmons family was living nearby with 3 males age 16 to 26. Although the
guardian record of Hanah & Susanna Cullipher does not say whether they are orphans or give any parents names, it is probable that
the Rebecca Cullifer who married John Simmons is their sister and they are all daughters of James Cullipher.
