Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
July Session 1823
Administration on the estate of Lewis Combs deceased was committed to Ephraim Mann who entered into bond with approved security & quallified agreeable to law ordered that letters of administration issue thereon & that he proceed to sell the perishable estate of the said deceased and account for the same as the law directs.
October Session 1823
Inventory & account sales of the estate of Lewis M. Combs deceased was returned on oath in open court & filed.
April Session 1824
Ephraim Mann administrator of Lewis Combs to the court - petition for the sale of a negro girl named Judith at a credit of 6 months. Ordered that Ephraim Mann the administrator of Lewis Combs sell to the highest bidder on a credit of 6 months one negro girl belonging to the estate of the said Combs.
The administrator of Lewis Combs returned in open court an account sales of the said estate.
July Session 1824
An account of sales of a negro girl belonging to the estate of Lewis Combs sold by order of court was returned by the administrator & filed.
January Session 1825
Ordered that Lemuel Basnight, Edmund Alexander and Henry Alexander be appointed auditors to settle the estate of Lewis M. Combs deceased with the administrator and make report to the next term.
July Session 1825
Ordered that Lemuel Basnight, Edmund Alexander and Henry Alexander be appointed auditors to settle the estate of Lewis Combs deceased with the administrator and make report to the next term.
October Session 1825
Ordered that Ephraim Mann administrator of Lewis Combs deceased have leave to sell negro man Jack the property of the said deceased on a credit of six months and make return to next term.

Combs, Lewis, 1823
Bond dated 30 Jun 1823 in the amount of three thousand dollars appointing Ephraim Mann administrator of the estate of Lewis Combs deceased, Saml. Leigh & Leml. Basnight securities.
Undated petition by Ephraim Mann administrator of the estate of Lewis Combs deceased stating that he has expended all the monies in his hands arising from the estate of the deceased in paying his debts and there is still a considerable due to individuals from the estate. He requests that the court will order a sale at six months credit of a negroe girl named Judath belonging to the estate in order that he may settle the debts due. Petition was approved.
There are a number of documents relating to a suit by Lemuel Basnight against Elijah Melson and Ephraim Mann administrator of the estate of Lewis Combs attempting to recover a debt.
