Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
January Session 1808
Ordered that Timothy Jones Esqr. have leave of administration on the estate of David Cooper deceased and has given bond in the sum of 2,000 pounds Henry Galloway and Benjamin Cooper his securities.
Timothy Jones Esqr. returned in court an inventory of the estate of David Cooper on oath filed.
Ordered that Timothy Jones Esqr. have leave to sell the movable estate of David Cooper deceased.
Ordered that John A. Patrick Esqr. Joseph White and John Clayton lay off to the widdow of David Cooper deceased her years allowance of said estate and make due returns.
August Session 1808
Timothy Jones Esqr. returned in court on oath an account of sales of the estate of David Cooper deceased to the amount of $245 filed.
February Session 1809
Ordered that Benjamin Cooper be appointed guardian to John Cooper David Cooper and Julia Cooper orphans of David Cooper deceased and hath given bond in the sum of one thousand pounds Timothy Jones and John Sikes Junr. his securities the above orphans being of age chose the above Benjn. Cooper.
Ordered that Benjamin Cooper be appointed guardian to James Cooper orphan of David Cooper and has given bond in the sum of four hundred pounds Timothy Jones and John Sikes Junr. his securities.
A division of land between the heirs of David Cooper and Joseph Leach deceased and appointed commissioners Joseph Spence Elisha Belanga Josiah Sawyer Jared Boughton & Job McGound and make return this term as ? at last term.
The division of the land as mentioned above was returned court by John Swain Surveyor.
June Session 1810
Ordered that John A. Patrick Joseph White & William Liverman be appointed to audite the estate of David Cooper deceased and make return to next court.
September Session 1810
John A. Patrick returned in court the audited accounts between the estate of David Cooper and Timothy Jones Esqr. administrator of said deceased and find a ballance due the said administrator of $60.90 1/2 filed.
December Session 1810
Ordered that Timothy Jones Esqr. have leave to sell swamp land the property David Cooper deceased sufficient to satisfy the amount of thirty pounds which is due from the estate of the said David Cooper deceased and all costs that accrue thereon it appearing that there is not movable estate sufficient for the above purpose.
July Session 1814
Ordered that James Cooper be bound as apprentice to Benjn. Cooper to learn the art & mistery of a marriner & to read write & cypher as far as the rule of three indenture filed.

Bond dated 27 Jan 1808 in the amount of two thousand pounds appointing Timothy Jones administrator of the estate of David Cooper deceased with Henry Galloway & Benjamin Cooper securities.
Bond dated 7 Feb 1809 in the amount of five hundred pounds in which Benjamin Cooper is appointed guardian to John Cooper, David Cooper & Julia Cooper orphans of David Cooper deceased with Timothy Jones & John Sikes Junr. securities.
Bond dated 7 Feb 1809 in the amount of one thousand pounds in which Benjamin Cooper is appointed guardian to James Cooper orphan of David Cooper deceased with Timothy Jones & John Sikes Junr. securities.
Petition February Term 1809 by the heirs of Capt. David Cooper deceased praying for the division of 800 acres of juniper swamp belonging to the heirs of said Cooper and the heirs of Joseph Leach deceased. Request that Joseph Spence, Elisha Belanga, Josiah Sawyer, Jared Boughton & Job McGound be appointed commissioners.
Execution dated 28 Sep 1809 and issued 18 Oct 1809 against Benjamin Cooper and the other heirs of David Cooper deceased for 1 pound, 19 shillings & 9 pence recovered by the county court for costs and charges expended by them in the division of lands belonging to David Cooper deceased and Joseph Leach deceased.
Execution dated 11 Jul 1814 against Benjamin Cooper and the other heirs of David Cooper deceased for 6 pounds, 4 shillings & 9 pence recovered by the county court for costs.
Petition January Term 1829 by Sarah now the wife of John Jones, John Cooper, Elizabeth Jones, David Cooper, Joseph Galloway, James Cooper & Julia White heirs at law of David Cooper and also by Sylvia Belanga, Foster Belanga, Elisha Belanga, Susan Goodwin, Samuel & James Belanga heirs at law of Abel Belanga who pray for division of 50 acres known as Coopers Fishing on the south side of the narrows that was patented by David Cooper & Abel Belanga. Surveyor was Charles McClees and commissioners were Joseph Spence, Job McGown, Willoughby Richardson, Thoroughgood Perisho & Benjamin Chambers.
