Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1788
Ordered that Henry Holmes have leave of administration on the estate of Isaac Carroon deceased anf give bond in 2,000 pounds Joseph Brown and William Twiford securities, and qualifyed accordingly also returned on oath an inventory of the estate of said deceased ordered filed.
Ordered that Henry Holmes administrator of Isaac Carroon deceased have leave to sell the perishable estate of said deceased & make return to next court.
Ordered that Col. Hezekiah Spruill, Thomas Hopkins and Joseph Brown divide the estate of Isaac Carroon deceased among the representatives of said deceased and make return to next court.
Ordered that Henry Holmes be appointed guardian to Isaac Carroon and George Carroon orphans of Isaac Carron deceased and give bond 1,000 pounds John Gibson and Henry Alexander securities.
January Session 1789
John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibits into court an account of sales of part of the estate of John Hoskins deceased to the amount of 88 pounds, 18 shillings & 1 pence ordered filed also an account of sales of the estate of Isaac Carroon deceased to the amount of 23 pounds, 5 shillings & 10 pence ordred filed.
Col. Hezekiah Spruill one of the dividers returns a division of the estate of Isaac Caroon deceased among the representatives of the said deceased and ordered to be filed.
John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibits into court an account of the hire of land and negroes belonging to the estate of Isaac Carroon deceased amounting to 20 pounds & 6 shillings ordered filed.
July Session 1789
Ordered that Henry Holmes have leave of administration on the estate of Isaac Carroon son of Isaac deceased and give bond in 300 pounds John Snell & William Twiford securities & qualifyed accordingly.
Also that Henry Holmes administrator returns into court an inventory of the said Isaac Carroon deceased estate on oath.
Ordered that Col Hezekiah Spruill, Thomas Hopkins & Zachariah Hunnings be appointed to divide the estate of Isaac Carroon deceased son of Isaac deceased among the representatives of the said deceased and make return to next court.

Thomas Hopkins Esqr. one of the dividers of the estate of Isaac Carroon Junr. deceased returns into court a division of the said deceased estate ordered filed.
John Snell Deputy Sheriff returns into court an account of sales of the perishable part of the estate of Isaac Carroon Junr. deceased to amount of 57 pounds, 15 shillings & 7 pence ordered to be filed.
Also an account of the hire of the lands & negroes belonging to George Carroon orphan of Isaac Carroon Senr. deceased to amount of 18 pounds ordered to be filed.

It appears from these court minutes that Isaac Carroon Junr. died in 1788 and his son Isaac Carroon died in 1789. It would
be difficult to determine which Isaac Carroon some of the later minutes refer to, so all entries are left together in this file.
Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Henry Holmes to Comfort Carroon on 28 Apr 1791, Thomas Hopkins security.
Since Henry Holmes received a share of the estate, he must have previously been married to a sister of Comfort Carroon. Tyrrell
County marriage bonds also show the marriage of Reuben McDaniel to Alice Carron on 9 Apr 1789, Henry Holmes security.
