Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
July Session 1798
Account of sales of the rent of land & hire of negroes belonging to the orphans of Benjamin Cowell deceased was returned in open court amounting to 64 pounds, 12 shillings & 2 pence filed.
April Session 1799
Allso the settlement of the accounts of Benjamin Cowell deceased with the guardian of the orphans and find a balance due the sons of said deceased estate of 211 pounds, 11 shillings & 8 1/2 pence as per returns filed.
Allso the accounts of said estate of said deceased with the guardian and find a balance due the daughter of said deceased of 38 pounds, 13 shillings & 1 1/2 pence as per returns filed.
July Session 1799
An account of rents of land and hire of negroes belonging to the orphans of Benjamin Cowell deceased that is to say William Cowell orphan of said deceased his part of rents & hire to the amount of 50 pounds & 1 shilling as per return filed.
Allso Elizabeth Cowell orphan of said deceased who falls in debt to the amount of 18 shillings as per account filed.
October Session 1800
William Twiford Senr. guardian to the heirs of Benjamin Cowel deceased returns in open court an account of sales of part of the estate of said deceased sold on ye 1st day of January 1800 amount 49 pounds & 18 shillings.
July Session 1801
The audited accounts of Wm. Cowell with his guardian Wm. Twiford was returned into court by Samuel Spruill Esqr. auditor ordered filed.
