Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
January Session 1813
Ordered that Thomas Caroon have leave of administration on the estate of Sarah Dowdy and has given bond in the sum of five hundred pounds Thomas Leigh Esqr. his security.
Ordered that Thomas Leigh be appointed guardian to Joseph Dowdey orphan of William Dowdey deceased and has given bond in the sum of three hundred pounds Jesse Alexander Esqr. his security.
Thomas Carroon returned in open court an inventory of the estate of Sarah Dowdey deceased filed.
April Session 1813
Thomas Carroon returned in court on oath an account of sales of the estate of Sarah Dowdey deceased filed.
January Session 1814
The guardian account of Joseph Dowdy was returned to court by Thos. Leigh Esqr. his guardian ordered filed.
January Session 1815
The guardian account of Joseph Dowdey was returned in court by Thos. Leigh his guardian & filed.
July Session 1815
Ordered that Thomas Carroon be appointed guardian to Nancy and Patsy Dowdy orphans of William Dowdy deceased and has given bonds in the sum of one thousand pounds Nevill Caroon his security.
Ordered that Nevill Carroon be appointed guardian to Louisa and Matilda Dowdy orphans of William Dowdy deceased and has entered into bond in the sum of one thousand pounds Thos. Caroon his security.
Ordered that Joseph Mann be appointed guardian to Ivy Dowdy orphan of William Dowdy and has entered into bond in the sum of five hundred pounds James Caroon security.
Audited accounts of the estate of Sarah Dowdy was returned into court by Thos. Leigh Esqr.
January Session 1818
The account of Thomas Leigh guardian to William Dowdy was returned into court and ordered filed.
July Session 1822
Joseph Mann guardian to Ivy Dowdey returned on oath in open court his guardian account dated from 10 July 1815 to 10 July 1822 which was examined & aproved by the court & filed.
Thomas Caroon guardian to Nancy & Patsy Dowdy returned on oath in open court his guardian accounts dated from 21st June 1815 to 21st June 1822which was examined & aproved by the court & filed.
The following persons appeared in open court & renewed their guardian bonds viz. Phoeba Liverman guardian to Jesse Livermans orphans, Thomas Caroon to Patsy & Nancy Dowdy, Joseph Mann to Ivy Dowdy, Thomas Sikes to Luisa & Jesse Sikes, all who entered into bond with aproved security & their bonds filed.
Thomas M. Midyett was appointed guardian to Luisa & Matilda Dowdy orphans of William Dowdy deceased who entere into bond with aproved security ordered that he receive the estate of the said orphans into his possession & account for the same as the law directs.
