Davenport, Joanna, 1796

Administrators bond dated 26 Jan 1796 in the sum of one thousand pounds appointing John Swain administrator of the estate of Joanna Davenport deceased with John Davenport son of Richard & John Norman securities.

Transcriber's Notes:

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Levi Long to Polly Stephenson on 3 Mar 1795, Stephen Swain security; and also the marriage of James Davenport (Sr.) to Hannah Stephenson on 9 Jan 1784, Edmund Blount Jr. & Ebenezer Slade securities. {Could Hannah really be Johannah? This is almost certain because the will of James Davenport Sr. in 1790 lists his wife as Joannah and he has children Ann, Isaiah & Uriah, among others. This would be a second marriage for Joanna since she has male children with surname Stephenson.}
