Davenport, Blunt, 1838
Laying off of the dower of Elizabeth Davenport in the lands of her deceased husband, Blunt Davenport, on 20 Jan 1838 by John McClees, Sheriff, and Thomas H. Alexander, Joseph Alexander, James Forbes, Uri Spruill, Morris Weskett, Timothy Cahoon, Caleb Woodard, Thomas B. Midyett, John Brickhouse, Horatio Brickhouse, Samuel Leigh & Benjamin Brickhouse. It consisted of 178 acres known as The Island on the south side of Albemarle Sound and the widow received 59 acres including the dwelling and out houses.
