Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1812
William Tarkinton who received the notes due the estate of William Hatfield deceased has returned by order of this court the following notes to wit Jonathan Robinson note L 2-1-8 James McKabe's note L 50 Joseph Spruill's note L 1-10-1 Frederick Spruill's note L 6-3-7 William Mason's note L 3-0-2 Peter S. Swain note L 1-7-6 filed till further orders of this court.
The court ordered that the clerk deliver the following notes to William Davenport administrator of Ann Davenport deceased
viz.
One note for one hundred dollars signed James McKabe William Hatfield and Hezekiah Spruill dated the 31st Decr 1807.
One mote for the sum of three pounds, 6 shillings & 7 pence signed by William Hatfield and Frederick Spruill dated the 8th
November 1809.
One note for the sum of one pound ten shillings and 1 penny signed by Joseph Spruill and Alexander Oliver dated the 8th
Novr 1809.
One note for the sum of three pounds and 2 pence signed by William Mason Gidion Alexander and Thos. Fagan dated the 8th Novr 1809.
One note for the sum of two pounds, 1 shilling & 8 pence signed by Jonathan Robinson and John Batman and dated the 8th Novr 1809.
And one note for the sum of one pound, 7 shillings & 6 pence signed by Peter S. Swain and Jonathan Robinson dated the 8th Novr 1809.
Total sum of the above six notes 61 pounds & 6 shillings.
Justices present when the above order was passed Richard Wood Richard Davis Henry Alexander and Joseph Ansley Esqrs.
Received the above notes to the amount of sixty one pounds & 6 shillings of Charles Spruill Clerk of Tyrrell County Court this
14th October 1812. William -x- Davenport Test Henry Alexander
Henry Alexander Esqr. protests against the above order as elegal in open court.
