Note dated 2 Jan 1827 signed by Wilson B. Hodges, A. Herbert & Jno. Norman Senr. promising to pay $166.43 to Wm. F. Davenport administrator of James Davenport deceased on order after 9 months. The rear of the note says for value received pay the within note to Saml. Spruill lame man and signed 11 Aug 1827 by A. Hassell.

Summons dated the first Monday in September 1827 and issued 6 Nov 1827 for Wilson B. Hodges, Arthur G. Herbert, John D. Norman & Archibald Hassell to appear in the Superior Court on the first Monday in March next to answer unto William Davenport administrator of James Davenport in a plea that they pay a debt of $166.43 and $100 in damages.

Bail bond dated 24 Dec 1827 in the amount of $332.86 in which Archibald Hassell is bound to appear before the Judge of the Superior Court on the first Monday in March next to answer unto Samuel Spruill endorsee in a plea of debt of $166.43.

Summons dated the first Monday in March 1828 and issued 29 Jul 1828 for Salathiel Spruill & Clement Spruill to appear before the Judge of the Superior Court on the first Monday in September and testify on behalf of the plaintiff in a suit in which Samuel Spruill is plaintiff and John Norman and others are defendants.

Summons issued in term time on the first Monday in March 1829 for Samuel Rodgers & Silas Wynne to appear immediately in the Superior Court to testify on behalf of the plaintiff in a suit in which William F. Davenport administrator is plaintiff and Wilson B. Hodges and others are defendants.

Hodges & John Norman to the Judge of the Superior Court in Tyrrell County on the first Monday in September next and then and there to satisfy William F. Davenport administrator of James Davenport deceased by paying $203.77 1/2 which William F. Davenport lately recovered against them for debt, damages, cost & charges in a suit in Superior Court.
