Transcriber's Notes:
Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Elisha Davis to Sarah Phelps on 20 May 1800, James Hoskins security; also the marriage
of Elisahe Davis to Jemima Lockhart on 5 Jan 1784, Joseph Wyatt security.
Since Elisha Davis is listed in the 1810 census of Tyrrell County as being 45 years of age or older, it is possible that both of the
above marriages are for the same Elisha Davis. Elisha does not appear in the 1782 tax list but appears in the 1784 and 1786 tax lists.
In the 1790 census his household has 1 female and 3 males under 16. The 1800 census shows Elisha as 26 to 44 and a female 26 to 44. In
the 1810 census Elisha is 45 and up and there are two females, one 16 to 25 and the other 45 and up. No Sarah Davis appears in the
1820 census.
