Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
April Session 1784
Appeared in open court Rachel Edwards and prayed an administration on the estate of James Edwards deceased granted and give bond 150 pounds - William Swain & Joseph Hassell securitys.
And the said Rachel Edwards returns into court an inventory of the said Jas. Edwards deceased ordered to be filed.
July Session 1788
Ordered that Robert McAllister administrator in lieu of his wife have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of James Edwards deceased to discharge the said deceaseds debts and make return to next court.
July Session 1790
John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibits into court an account of sales of James Edwards deceased to the amount of 16 pounds, 5 shillings & 6 pence ordered filed.
April Session 1791
John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibits into court an execution against Robert McAllister administrator of Jas. Edwards deceased at the instance of Ann Hasell wherein he returns that he has lived on fifty acres of land the property of the said Jas. Edwards deceased. Ordered that the Sheriff sell the same or so much thereof as will discharge the debt and cost of the said executors agreeable to act of assembly provided in that case.

Bond in April Term 1784 in the amount of one hundred and fifty pounds appointing Rachel Edwards administratrix of the estate of James Edwards deceased, William Swain & Jos. Hassell securities.

Edwards, James, 1790
Judgement was obtained by Ann Hassell against Robert McAlister administrator of the estate of James Edwards deceased for 8 pounds debt and 4 shillings cost which has yet to be satisfied. Execution issued 1 Oct 1790 upon any goods & chattels of James Edwards in the hands of the said administrator.
Another execution of the same judgement as above dated 28 Apr 1791 and issued 25 May 1791.

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of James Edwards to Rachel Hassell on 19 Feb 1781, John Bateman & John Edwards
securities. Rachel remarried to Robert McAllister by 1788.
