Dated 11 June 1765
In the name of God amen: This eleventh day of June seventeen hundred and sixty five I Joshua Everett of Tyrrel County and Province afoursaid being in sound mind and memory thanks be given to the Almighty God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say first and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christain burial at the durection of my Executors and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this life I give and bequeath in the manner and form following.
Imprimis - I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Sarah my maire bridle and saddle forever & my plantation and lands and all the residue of my moveable Estate to her during the time she lives a widdow and afterwards I give my plantation and land belonging to it lying over a place called the great swamp and my owne hunting gun to my son Benjamin to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give to my son Nathaniel my manner plantation whereon I now live on and all the land belonging to it & my other smal gun to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give to my wifes daughter Sarah Bently one young heffer of two or three years old and the residue of my moveable Estate I will that it shall be eaqually divided betwext my son Nathaniel and my daughter Elizabeth and my daughter Jerusha and my daughter Hannah.
Item - My will is that Thomas Everitt and William Harrison be my whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoaking and disannulling all and ever former Wills and Testaments in any ways by me named retifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date afore mentioned.

Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
June Session 1765
Hermit Holly appeared and proved the last will and testament of Joshua Everitt deceased & on his oath saith he was of sound mind & memory and that he saw Thos. Harrison the other subscribing witness sign at the same time.
Personally appeared Thomas Everett & William Harrison the executors to the last will and testament of Joshua Everett deceased & qualified as such accordingly.
On motion of Thomas Everett & William Harrison for an order to sell the perishable estate of Joshua Everett deceased granted accordingly & that they make return of such their procedings to our next court.
