Goodman, David, 1822
Writ dated the third Monday in March 1822 directed to the Sheriff of Tyrrell County to have the body of Zebulon Tarkenton at the Superior Court of Law in Bertie County on the third Monday in September next to answer unto Stark Armistead, administrator of David Goodman deceased, in a plea of trespass on the case, $200 to his damage. At the September Term the suit was joined and removed to Tyrrell County upon agreement of both parties.
Writ dated the first Monday in March 1823 and issued 19 Mar 1823 to take the body of Zebulon Tarkenton and have him before the Superior Court of Law on the first Monday in September next and satisfy Stark Armistead, administrator of David Goodman deceased, in the sum of $178.63 with interest on $134 from 4 Mar 1823 which lately the said Armistead administrator as aforesaid recovered against him in a suit brought by the said Armistead, administrator.
Summons dated the first Monday in March 1823 for Silby Wynne, John B. Beasley & John Marriner to be before the Judge of the Sperior Court on the first Monday in March instant to testify for the plaintiff in a case in which David Goodman's administrator is plaintiff and Zebulon Tarkenton is defendant.
Note dated 5 Mar 1823 from S. Armistead saying that Col. Tarkenton has many levies against his estate for considerable money. He is willing to take a note with good security from the Colonel for the damages and cash for the costs and charges to satisfy the judgement.
