September 30, 1793

In the name of God Amen I, Charles Gerkins of the state and county aforesd being sick and weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory thanks be given to almighty God for the same do this thirtyth day of September make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of allmighty God that gave it and my body to be burid at the discresion of my executors hereafter named

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my son Elisha Gerkins one brinded heafer unto & his heirs forever

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Herman Gerkins one black and white ? heafer unto him & his heirs forever

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Gerkins one cow and calf unto her & her heirs forever

Item I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Sabrah Gerkins one cow and calf unto her & her heirs forever

My will and desire is that all the rest and remainder of my estate not yet given to be for the schooling of my children and the support of wife & children at the discretion and direction of my brother Zachariah Gerkins and that he sell some part of the estate so left to pay my debts and the uses above mentioned schooling my children and all the debts due me to be by him collected for the above use mentioned and I do nominate and appoint my brothers Zachariah Gerkins & Benjamin Gerkins to be my true and lawfull exrs of this my last will and testament ratifying & confirming this to be my last will & testament and no other this thirtieth deay of September one thousand seven hundred and ninety three
