Dated 22 Nov 1851

In the name of God, Amen- I Elezabeth Hill of the County of Tyrrel and State of North Carolina being weak in the body, but of sound mind and memory do make and ordain and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say-

Item- I loan to my beloved Husband Calvin all my Estate both real and personal during his natural life, then after the death of my husband Calvin I give and bequeath to my youngest daughter Margaret Hill eight acres of land including the dwelling house where I now live to be laid off by a parallel line with the dividing line between William Yates and myself, and if my daughter Margaret should decease without a lawful heir of her body, then I give and bequeth the eight acres of land and dwelling house to my beloved son Calvin-

Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Hill all the balance of my land, and should my daughter Elizabeth decease without a lawful heir of her body then I give and bequeath to my son Hardy that portion of land allotted to her-

Item, I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Mary one cow and calf-

Item, I give bequeath to my daughter Margaret one large bed and teaster stead and if she should decease without a lawful heir of her body then I give and bequeath the said bed and stead to my daughter Elizabeth-

Item- I give and bequeath one bed and low stead to my daughter Elizabeth and should my daughter Elizabeth decease without a lawful heir of her body then I give said bed and stead to my daughter Margaret-

Item- I give and bequeath to my two sons Calvin and Hardy the sum of ten dollars each to be raised out of the residue of my perishable estate-

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend Silas Davenport my lawful executor to execute this my last Will and Testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same, In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Hill do hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of November 1851

This paper writing is produced in open court and on motion, the same is admitted to probate as a will passing reality personality and mixed property the subscribing witnesses swearing that they and each of them saw Elizabeth Hill make her mark- her name having been written by another that at the time she was of sound and desposing mind & memory: and that she then declared the same to be her last Will and Testament: and that they signed the same in her presence and at her request as witnesses- Let it be admitted to probate and recorded at the same time Silas Davenport appears and qualifies as executor.
