I, Easter Hollis, of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament, to wit: -
First; - All my just debts and funeral expenses shall be first fully paid.
Second: - I give to and devise and bequest to my daughter, Note Simmons, Five Dollars in money.
Third: - I give and devise and bequeath to my daughter, Matt Tweedy, Five Dollars in money.
Fourth: - I give and devise and bequeath to my daughter,Bessie Overton, five Dollars in money.
Fifth: - I give and devise and bequeath to my daughter, Milley Brickhouse, Five Dollars in money.
Sixth: - I give and devise and bequeath to my daughter, Janey Belanga, Five Dollars in money.
Seventh: - I give and devise and bequeath to my son Charles Hollis, Five Dollars in money.
Eight: - I give and devise and bequeath to my son A. O. Hollis, Five Dollars in money.
Ninth: - I give and devise and bequeath to my son Jerry Hollis, one half of the land on which I now live adjoining the lands of Andrew Mizell, J. D. Overton, Dec., and others, to him to have and to hold during his natural life and at his death to his next blood kin.
Tenth: - I give devise and bequeath to my grandson, Sylvester Hollis, one half of the land on which I now live adjoining the lands of Andrew Mizell, J. D. Overton, Dec., and others and to have and to hold the same during his natural life and at his death to his next blood kin, also, one feather-bed, including bed-stead, mattress and bed covering.
Eleventh: - I give, devise and bequeath to my son, Jerry Hollis and my grandson Sylvester Hollis the remainder of my chattle property, and at my death if there is not enough money that I shall leave, to pay all of my just debts and funeral expenses and also to pay over to my children as above written, then my son Jerry Hollis and my grand-son Sylvester Hollis are to pay over the remainder of the money within two years, and if they shall fail to pay over the money to the other heirs within two years, then my land is to go to all of my children alike.
Twelfth: - I nominate and appoint my grand-son, Sylvester Hollis to be my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills be me made.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this the 2 day of April, 1912.

Signed, sealed, published and declared as and for her Last Will and Testament by the above named testator in our presence, and in the presence of each other, signed our names as witnesses thereto.

A paper purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Easter Hollis, deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned, Clerk of the Superior Court for said County, by Sylvester Hollis, the executor therein mentioned, and the due execution thereof, by the said Easter Hollis, by the oath and examination of W. W. Sawyer & J. J. Ward, the subscribing witnesses thereto, who being duly sworn, doth depor and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith, that he is a subscribing witness to the paper-writing now shown herein, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Easter Hollis, that the said Easter Hollis, in the presence of this deponent subscribed her name at the end of said paper-writing which is now shown as aforesaid, and which bears date of the 2nd day of April 1912.
And This Deponent Further Saith, that the said Easter Hollis, the testatrix aforesaid, did at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid declare the said paper-writing so subscribed by her and exhibited to be her last Will and Testament, and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said Will, as an attesting witness thereto, and at the request and in the presence of said testatrix, and this deponent further saith, that at the same time when the said testatrix subscribed her name to the said last Will as aforesaid, and at the time of the deponent's subscribing his name as an attesting witness thereto, as afore said, the said Easter Hollis was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will, and was not under any restraint to the knowledge, information or belief of this deponent; and further these deponents say not.

It is therefore considered and adjudged by the Court that the said paper-writing and every part thereof is the last Will and Testament of Easter Hollis, deceased. Let the said Will, together with the probate, be registered and filed.
