Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1802
Ordered that James Hoskins Esqr. have leave of administration on the estate of Thomas Hoskins deceased and hath entered into bond in the sum of two thousand pounds Thomas Hoskins Senr. and John Murphy Esqr. securities.
James Hoskins returned in court the inventory of Thomas Hoskins deceased filed.
Ordered that James Hoskins administrator of Thomas Hoskins deceased have leave to sell the chattel property of Thomas Hoskins deceased and make return to next court.
April Session 1804
Ordered that the following gentlemen be allowed for dividing the land between the heirs of Thomas Hoskins deceased and John Scott to wit Joseph Wynne Soloman Hassell John Wynne Frederick Massey Joseph Snell 3 days each at 1 pound & 10 shillings total amount seven pounds ten shillings.
The division of the land between Thomas Hoskins and John Scott was returned in by James Hoskins filed.
October Session 1804
Ordered that Samuel Spruill Richard Howett & Jesse Alexander be appointed to divide the negroes of Thomas Hoskins Junr. deceased among the representatives & make return to next court.
July Session 1805
James Hoskins Esqr. returned an account of the hire of the negroes belonging to Thomas Hoskins Junr. deceased amount 354 pounds, 17 shillings & 8 pence.
Ordered that Samuel Spruill Esqr. Benjamin Spruill Junr. and Richard Wood or a majority be appointed to audite settle and divide the estate of Thomas Hoskins Junr. deceased among the representatives and make return to next court.
James Hoskins Esqr. returned in court on oath an account of sales of part of the estate of Thos. Hoskins Junr. deceased amount 617 pounds, 17 shillings & 8 pence filed.
October Session 1805
Ordered that Samuel Spruill Benjamin Spruill and Richard Woods be appointed to audite settle and divide the estate of Thomas Hoskins Junr. deceased and make return to next court.

Hoskins, Thomas Junr., 1802
Petition January Term 1804 for division of the lands of Thomas Hoskins Junr. deceased by John Scott, Jas. Hoskins, Jeremiah Wynne, John Murphy, Hardy Hoskins, Charles Hoskins & Nancy Hoskins by their guardian James. Thomas Hoskins died in 1802 seized in common with John Scott of a tract of 100 acres of juniper swamp.
Petition January Term 1805 by James Hoskins administrator of Thomas Hoskins the younger who died intestate in September of 1802 leaving eight next of kin. He was possessed of 2 negroes and 3/5 of another which cannot be divided among the heirs, nor can distribution of the personal estate be made without sale of the negroes. Requests permission to sell the negroes so his administration can be concluded.
Division dated 18 Jan 1806 of the estate of Thomas Hoskins Junr. deceased among the heirs, each receiving 122 pounds, 10
shillings & 4 pence:
William Rumbo or children {William Rainbough of Edenton in 1804 will, where only children are listed so sister must be deceased.

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of J. Wynne to S. Hoskins on 12 Mar 1796, Frederick Massey security.
Reference to the will of Thomas Hoskins Senr. in 1804 shows that Thomas Hoskins Junr. is his son and that the heirs of Thomas Hoskins
Junr. are his siblings and their husbands. Information from the 1804 will is included above in division.
