Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
August Session 1774
Ordered that John Hassell have administration of the estate of Elisha Hassell deceased & he gave bond in the sum of five hundred pounds with Zebede Hassell & Edward Hassell securities and the said John Hassell qualified as administrator.
November Session 1774
An inventory of the estate of Elisha Hassell deceased was returned & proved in open court by the oath of John Hassell.
February Session 1775
Ordred that there be auditors appointed to settle the accounts of Elisha Hassell deceased accordingly agreed that Peter Wynne Benjamin Hassell and Zebedee Hassell audit the accounts and return the same to the next court.
May Session 1775
John Hassell administrator of Elisha Hassell exhibited into court his account with the said estate by which there appears a ballance due to the said estate of 19 pounds, 10 shillings & 6 pence.
Ordered that John Hassell sell one hundred & fifty acres of land belonging to the estate of Elisha Hassell & make return to next court.
May Session 1776
Account of sales rendered by John Hassell admor. of Elisha Hassell deceased amounting to 117 pounds, 8 shillings & 3 pence ordered to be filed.
