Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
January Session 1782
James Anderson appeared in open court & prayed the administration of the estate of John Hassell deceased accordingly the same was granted & gave security Benjamin Hassell & Frans. Cummins in a bond of 20,000 pounds currency.
April Session 1782
Appeared Joseph Tarkenton John Tarkenton Junr. & Zebulon Tarkenton as garnishees to render an acct. of the property in their hands belonging to John Hassell son of John - ordered to be filed.
January Session 1802
The audited and settled accounts between John Tarkenton Senr. guardian to the heirs of Jno. Hassell deceased to wit John Tarkenton & wife was returned in court by Charles Spruill Paul Thoroughgood & James Hoskins who were chosen by the above parties to audite and fully settle all the accounts between the above parties and find a ballance due to the said John Tarkenton & wife of fourteen pounds nineteen shillings and that each of the above parties pay an equal shair of all costs heretofore awarded as per bill to be made out by the clerk the said account given up to the said John Tarkenton Esqr.
