Hassell, Solomon, 1817

Subpoena dated 2 Jul 1821 for the heirs of Solomon Hassell represented by their guardian ad litem, James Wood to appear at court on the first Monday after the fourth Monday in September next to show cause, if any, why an execution in favor of Zebulon Tarkenton should not be levied on the lands and tenements of Solomon Hassell deceased. Heirs are listed as Evan Hassell, Hosea Hassell, Nancy Walker, Polly Hassell, Mahala Hassell, Solomon Hassell & Affa Hassel.

There are about 60 pages of documents in this estate file and they all deal with suits for recovery of debt owed by the estate of Solomon Hassell deceased. The above is an example. Most do not list heirs and the documents are of little, if any, genealogical value.
