Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
June Session 1766
On motion of Mr. William Cumming in behalf of Ann Howett praying administration on the estate of Richard Howett deceased ordered granted and that the clerk certify the same to the Secretary that letters issue accordingly.
Personally appeared Ann Howett and qualified administratrix of the estate of Richd. Howett deceased.
Ann Howett exhibited an inventory of Richard Howett deceased & proved the same on her oath ordered filed.
On motion of Ann Howett for a devision of Richard Howett deceased ordered that John Hooker & Stephen Hooker, Joseph Spruill & Giles Long or any three of them devide the estate of the said Richard Howett & make return of it to the next court.
March Session 1767
Joseph Wiat & Ann his wife is appointed guardian of William Howet son of Richard Howet deceased. Securities Peter Wynne & Benjamin Hassell son of Abraham in the sum of 300 pounds.
Joseph Wiat and Ann Wiat his wife are appointed guardains to Ann Howit, Richard Howit, Abraham Howit, Silvanus Howit, Rowan Howit and Betty orphans of Richard Howit deceased and enters Peter Wynne and Benjamin Hassell securities in the sum of 2000 pounds.
May Session 1769
Joseph Wyatt exhibited his account of the administration of the estate of Richard Howett deceased & proved the same on his oath ordered to be filed; amount 120 pounds recd. paid 19 pounds & 12 shilings.
February Session 1770
Joseph Wyatt exhibited an acct. of the estate of Richard Howett deceased ordered to be filed.
