Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
July Session 1798
Ordered that Enoch Ludford administrator of Randol Johnston deceased pay to Miles Pierce twelve pounds, 10 shillings for the support of Charles Johnston orphan of Randol Johnston deceased.
October Session 1798
Samuel Spruill Esqr. returns in open court the dower of widow of Randal Johnston deceased ordered filed.
Samuel Spruill Esquire one of the auditors appointed to settle the accounts of Randol Johnston deceased with the administrator returns in open court the accounts settled and find a balance due the estate of 52 pounds, 3 shillings & 3 pence as per returns filed.
April Session 1799
Ordered that Jesse Davis guardian to the orphans of Randol Johnston deceased have leave to take the estate of said orphans out of the hand of Thomas Warrington as administrator of the estate of Enoch Ludford deceased.
October Session 1824
The county surveyor returned in open court the division of the lands of Randal Johnson between his two sons Samuel & Charles Johnson.

Johnson (or Johnston), Randall, 1795
July Term 1798 petition for dower by Jesse Davis and his wife Mary. Mary Davis was the widow of Randall Johnson who died in 1795 and she has since intermarried with Jesse Davis. Randall died seized and possessed of 65 acres on the south side of Alligator Creek bounded by John Smith & Jesse Davis. Enoch Ludford is the administrator of the estate and there are 2 children whom Jesse Davis is now guardian of.
Guardian bond dated 17 January 1795 in the amount of two hundred pounds appointing Mary Johnston guardian of the orphan {unnamed} of Randol Johnston deceased with Wiliam McDonald & Enoch Ludford securities.

Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Randolf Johnston to Mary Perisho in 1781, John Hoskins security.
The court minute entry concerning the division of the lands of Randal Johnson to his sons Charles and Samuel seems very late for that to have
occurred, however, Charles & Samuel Johnson appear in the 1830 Tyrrell County census as being between 40 and 50 years of age, so they are of age
to be the sons of this Randall Johnston, one of whose sons is identified herein as Charles.
