Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
March Session 1761
Personally appeared Ann Jennet and on motion prayed administration on the estate of Abraham Jennett deceased her husband. Ordered that the same be certified to the Secretary of the Province that letters of administration issue accordingly.
Personally appeared Abraham Jennett son of Abraham Jennett deceased and of his own free will being about the adge of fifteen years chose John Sedgux guardain of his person and estate, Joseph Alexander Esqr. & Jeremiah Wynne sureties in the som of five hundred pounds prcla. money.
John Sedgex is appointed guardain of Sarah Jennett orphan of Abraham Jennett deceased. Ordered that the sd. John Sedgex give five hundred pounds security with two good securities & enters Joseph Alexander Esqr. & Jeremiah Wynne.
On motion of Ann Jennett for sail of the parishable part of the estate of her husband Abraham Jennett deceased. Ordered granted.
Personally appeared Ann Jennett widow of Abraham Jennett deceased and qualified administratrix of Abraham Jennett deceased by taking the oath appointed by law.
Read the petition of John Sidgex praying an order to take all the estate of Abraham Jennett decd. orphans into his care as guardain to ye sd. children & c. Ordered that he take into his hands the estate of Abraham Jennett & Sarah Jennett orphans of Abraham Jennett deceased as afsd.
Personally appeared John Sedgex and proved his account against the estate of Abraham Jennett deceased amounting to the sum of twelve pounds fourteen shillings procla. money.
June Session 1761
Ann Paterson Jennett exhibited an account of sales of the estate of Abraham Jennett deceased and proved the same on oath. On motion ordered filed.
On motion of Sam Johnston atty. in behalf of the orphans of Abraham Jennett deceased praying sails of the remaining perishable estate of sd. Abraham Jennett and ordered accordingly; and that Joseph Alexander Esqr., Capn. Willm. Barns, & Jeremiah Wynne Dept. Sheriff exhibited an account of sails of part of the perishable estate of Abraham Jennett deceased & proved the same on his oath.
Personally appeared Ann Jennett and exhibited an inventory of the estate of Abraham Jennett deceased and proved the same upon her oath. Ordered to be filed.
December Session 1761
On motion of John Pearson atty. for Ann Jennett ordered that the inventory of sundry goods by the sd. Ann proved and declare to be the estate of her former husband William Raphelld &c. Ordered to ly over till next court.
The petition of Ann Jennett daughter of Abraham Jennett deceased &c. Read prays an order of this court for her part of her fathers personall estate &c. Granted.
Read the petition of John Sedgex and Ann Jennet for persons to devid the estate of Abraham Jennet deceased between the widow and children of the sd. Abraham. Ordered that Capt. William Barns, Jeremiah Wynne & Richard Hewett or any two of them devide the same & make returne of such their proceeding to the next court.
March Session 1762
Jeremiah Wynne exhibited the division of the estate of Abraham Jennet deceased ordered to be filed.
June Session 1762
On motion of P. Gordon, John Sedgex is appointed guardian to Elizabet Jennet orphan of Abraham Jennett. Stephen Hooker and Jeremiah Wynne securities in the sum of fifty pounds.
October Session 1784
Ordered that John Poole and Isaac Meekings executors of Isaac Meekings deceased pay to Joseph Jennett orphan of Abraham Jennett and the heirs of Mary Smith orphan of Abraham Jennett deceased the sum of 66 pounds with nineteen years and six months interest.
January Session 1785
Ordered that an execution issue against John Poole and Isaac Meekings executors of Isaac Meekings deceased for the sum of 149 pounds, 4 shillings & 7 pence due Joseph Jennett orphan of Abraham Jennett deceased and the heirs of Mary Smith orphan of said A. Jennett deceased.
