December Session 1758

Know all men by these presents that I Evan Jones of the county and province aforesaid for and in consideration of the
love and goodwill and effection which I have and do bear to my loveing wife Mary Jones do give and grant to her and the
heirs of her body lawfully begotten by the said Evan Jones the following negro slaves viz. Dido, Bess, Edea, Jam,
Flip and Jaccob, together with all my household furniture and stock of all kinds. But it hereby declared to be understood that
the nigros, household furniture and stock above mentioned is to be and remain the property and the possession of the said
Evan Jones so long as he shall live and after his death to be equally devided between the said Mary Jones and
the heirs of her body lawfully begotten as aforesaid and if no such heir sho'd that then in that case the said Mary Jones
is invested herself with the negros and other things above mentioned and may despose of the same as she thinks proper. In testimony
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15th day of September Anno. Dome. 1758.

May Session 1768
Personally appeared Mary Jones and qualified administratrix of the last will and testament of Evan Jones deceased & took the oath by law required.
Personally appeared William Currell & on his oath proved the last will and testament of Evan Jones deceased & saith at that time he was of sound mind & memory & that he saw the other witnesses sign at the same time viz. Susanna Currell & Thomas Currell.
Mary Jones exhibited & proved the inventory of the estate of Evan Jones deceased ordered filed.
On motion of Wiriot Ormand atty. in behalf of Mary Jones admx. of Evan Jones deceased to divide the sd. estate according to the will of the intestate ordered that John McKildo Esqr., Stevens Lee, Thomas Stubbs & Thomas Learey or any three of them divide the same and make return their proceedings to the next court.
February Session 1769
On motion of Mr. Wyrot Ormand on behalf of Mickell Heron is appointed guardain of Ann Jones, Elizabeth Jones, Mary Jones, Charlotte Jones orphans of Evan Jones deceased and enters John McKildo Esquire & James Mathews securities in the sum of one thousand pounds who was approved of by the court.
Personally appeared James Long Esquire and Frealy Jones and qualified executors of the last will and testament of Evan Jones deceased.
Personally appeared Mikel Hearn John McKildo Esq. and James Mathews and duly acknowledged their bond for the orphans of Evan Jones deceased ordered to be recorded and filed.
On motion of Wyriot Ormand in behalf of Mickel Hearn exor. of Evan Jones deceased for an order of sale of the perishable part of the estate of sd. deceased to pay debts; ordered granted according to the above motion & to make due return to our next court.
May Session 1769
On motion of Frealy Jones executor of the last will and testament of Evan Jones for a division of the estate of the sd. Evan Jones deceased according to the will of the testator ordered granted & that Thomas Lee Giles Long & Benjamin Blount Esquires and Andrew Long divide the same between the wife Mickell Hearn & the children of sd. Jones or any three of the aforesd. gent. and make return to our next court.
August Session 1769
Ordered that Mickell Heron exor. of Evan Jones deceased sell the personally estate of the sd. Evan Jones deceased sufficient to pay the debts due from the sd. estate.
Personally appeared Andrew Long and exhibited and on his oath proved an account of sales of the estate of Evan Jones deceased ordered to be filed.
November Session 1769
Personally appeared Andrew Long and exhibited an account of sales of part of the estate of Even Jones deceased & proved the same on his oath ordered filed.
February Session 1770
On motion of Roger Orman attorney in behalf of Frealy Jones & exors. or Evan Jones deceased to set aside the guardinship Mickell Hearn guardain of the orphans of Evan Jones deceased ordered that Mickell Hearn be removed from his guarding ship and that Friley Jones is appointed guardin of aforesd. orphans and enters Thomas Lee and Andrew Long securities in the sum of two thousand pounds which was approved of by the court; on motion Mr. Wyriot Orman atty. for an appeal; granted securities Saml. Smithwick Josha. Swain.
Ordered that John McKildo Edward Buncombe examine the acct. of Mickell Hearn guardin of the orphans of Evan Jones deceased next court.
Personally appeared Friley Jones Stevens Lee and Andrew Long and duly acknowledged their bond for the guardainship of the orphans of Evan Jones deceased viz. Ann, Elizabeth, Mary & Charlot Jones.
August Session 1770
On motion of Mr. Roger Ormond attorney in behalf of the executors of Evan Jones deceased &c on the acct. of Michael Herron guardain of the orphans of the sd. Evan Jones which account was proved on the oath of Michel Herron ordered to be filed and recorded. Ordered that Stevens Lee Edward Buncomb Giles Long Benjamin Blount divide the estate of Evan Jones deceased & make due return to the next court.
May Session 1771
Edward Buncombe, Stevens Lee, Giles Long & Benjamin Blount exhibited a division of the estate of Evan Jones deceased ordred recorded and filed.
May Session 1775
Archd. Corrie returned into court a state of the account between Frayley Jones & the orphans of Evan Jones by which there appears a ballance due the orphans 20 pounds, 13 shillings & 6 pence.
February Session 1777 {There is a 1/2 year gap in court minutes prior to this}
Friley Jones appeared craved the court to appoint auditors to inspect his acct. against the orphans of Evan Jones deceased accordingly was appointed John Hooker Joseph Spruill Thos. Hoskins Esqrs.
February Session 1778
Fryley Jones exhibited in open courts with Ann Jones & Charlotte Jones Elizabeth Jones orphans of Even Jones by which there appears a ballance due to the said orphans is 16 pounds, 7 shillings & 6 1/4 pence current money of this state.
February Session 1779
Fryley Jones guardian to the orphans of Evan Jones deceased exhibits his accts. against the said orphans and there appears a ballance due to said orphans 2 pounds, 7 shillings & 5 3/4 pence ordered to be filed.
October Session 1779
William Blount appears in oppen court and prays a division of the estate of Mary Jones orphan of Even Jones deceased granted.
Ordered that Thos. Mackey Esqr. Edmund Blount Junr. Everet Stubbs & John Stubbs or any three of them divide the estate
of Mary Jones deceased amongst the ares of said Jones and make return to next court.
January Session 1781
Mr. Fryley Jones exhibited in open court his guardian acct. against the orphans of Evan Jones, and there appears
a ballance due to said Jones from Ann Jones the sum of 66 pounds, 18 shillings & 8 1/4 pence likewise a ballance
due from said Jones to Elizabeth Blount the sum of 49 pounds, 8 shillings & 3 1/4 pence also a ballance due from
Charlotte Jones to said Fryley Jones the sum of 10 pounds, 18 shillings & 11 pence - ordered to be filed.
April Session 1783
Appeared Frily Jones in open court & exhibited an account against the estate of Even Jones deceased & ordered to
be filed.
October Session 1783
Appeared in open court Frily Jones and exhibited an inventory of the estate of Charlotte Jones deceased & proved -
and ordered to be filed.
North Carolina Archives Guardian bond dated 17 Feb 1769 in the amount of two hundred pounds appointing Michl. Heron guardian of Ann Elizabeth
Mary & Charlotte orphans of Evan Jones deceased with John McKildo & Jas. Mathews securities.
