In the name of God amen: I Charlotte Jones of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being sick and like for death but in perfect disposing mind and memory do amine to make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first and principally I do recommend my soul to the hands of the Almighty God who give it me nothing doubting to receive the same again and my body to be buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned.
Item - I give and bequeath to my uncle Friley Jones one negroe wench named Dy and one child named Eve to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my cousin James Jones Junr. son of Friley Jones one negroe wench named Rose to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my cousin Sarah Jones daughter of Friley Jones one negroe named Winney to her and her heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my sister Elizabeth Blount all the rest of my Estate not before given to her and her heirs forever. I constitute denominate and appoint my uncle Friley Jones William Blount Executors to this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Will or Wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this only to be my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal this 13th day of April 1783.

Personally appeared Thomas Stubbs Senr. & Isaac Airs and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that they saw and heard Charlotte Jones above named sign seal publish pronounce & declare this writing to be her last Will and Testament and at that time she was of sound mind & memory further saith not

Appeared in open court Frily Jones and exhibited an inventory of the estate of Charlotte Jones deceased & proved - and ordered to be filed.
Thomas Hoskins Joseph Wyatt & Benjamin Spruill having audited the sccount of Frily Jones against the estate of Charlotte Jones deceased and find a balance due the said deceased estate of 4 pounds, 12 shillings & 7 pence.
