In the name of God Amen I John Jones of the county of Tyrrell and state of North Carolina being weak in body but of sound memory and under staning thanks be to God for the saim do this 29 day of December 1793 make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say first I give my sole in the hands of God that give it and my body I give to be buried in a desent Cristan manner at the decreston of my exectors and as for my worly goods that God has give me I despose of in the folling manner vis that is to say first I give and bequeth to my beloved wife all my land for her life time or her widerhod and after her deth or her widderhod to my sons John and Isaac also I give my wife Anne Jones during her life time or widderhod the use of all my goods and chattels and personl estate whatsoever and after her deth or widderhod to be devided ekely among all my children and I make and ordain John Davenport Senr exectour and my wife executorx of this my last will and tetement to take care and see same performed according to my true intent and meaning in witness whearof I the said John Jones have to this my last will and testement set my hand and seeall the day and year above writen

The last will and testament of John Jones deceased was proved in open court by the oath of John Spruill one of the subscribing witnesses filed.
John Davenport appeared in open court and qualified an executor of the last will and testament of John Jones deceased.

Execution dated 26 Jan 1795 and issued 14 Feb 1795 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of Stephen Bateman Senr. for 32 pounds, 1 shilling & 9 pence which the executors of John Jones recovered from him in a suit for debt, damages & costs. No sale for want of bidders.
Execution dated 27 Apr 1795 and issued 19 May 1795 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of Stephen Bateman for 32 pounds, 5 shillings & 6 pence which the executors of John Jones deceased recovered from him in a suit for debt, damages & costs. No sale for want of bidders.
Execution dated 27 Jul 1795 and issued 31 Aug 1795 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of Stephen Bateman for 32 pounds, 9 shillings & 3 pence which the executors of John Jones deceased recovered from him in a suit for debt, damages & costs. Not sold because of bad weather.
Execution dated 26 Oct 1795 and issued 15 Dec 1795 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of Stephen Bateman for 32 pounds & 13 shillings which the executors of John Jones deceased recovered from him in a suit for debt, damages & costs. Paid costs the attorneys fee.
