January 30, 1797
In the name of God Amen. I James Jones Senr of the state of North Carolina and county of Tyrrell being low in body but perfect mind and memory thanks be to God do make this my last will and testament. That is to say after all my just debts is paid, the remainder of my estate both real and personal I leave and bequeath in form and manner following. Viz.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Richard Jones one half of all my estate both real and personal, to him and his heirs forever -
Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son George W. Jones the other half of my estate both real and personal, to him and his heirs forever, but if he should die before he arrives at the age of twenty one then in that case it is my desire that the whole of my estate should go my son Richard Jones -
I leave my well beloved friend Coll. Edmund Blount, with my two sons Richard and George my whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament, ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 30th day of January 1797
