In the name of God amen: I Andrew Long of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina Planter being weak of body but of perfect and sound mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God and calling to mind the uncertainty of death and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die desire to make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of God that give it nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection at the last day to receive the same again being through the merits death and passion of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon of all my sins, and as for my body, I recommend to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter and as for such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow on me in this life - I give demise and dispose of in manner following -
Imprimis - My will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be all satisfied and paid-
Item - I lend unto my well beloved wife Ann Long during her widowhood the use and occupation of the land and plantation whereon I now live and the use of all my stock and stocks household goods and furniture during her widowhood and no longer - likewise the use of all my Negroes during her widowhood and no longer -
Item - I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Jeremia Long one shilling sterling to him and his heirs forever -
Item - I give and bequeath unto my beloved son James Long all my land and Plantation known by the name of John Longs and one half of my land and known by the name of the Markt Popler and one half of the juniper and Cypruss Swamp that I entered adjoining the said land to him and his heirs forever -
Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved son William Long all my land and plantation known by the name of the Cove Plantation and the one half of my land known by the name of the Markt Popler and one half of the Juniper and Cypruss Swamp that I entered adjoining the said land to him and his heirs forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved Elizabeth Long one negroe boy named Mackling to her and her heirs forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Mary Long the child that my negroe woman Nan now goes with, and one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Slade one shilling sterling to her and her heirs forever.
Item - It is my will and desire that if my negroe woman Nan should have another child after this she now goes with to give and bequeath the child to my daughter Ann Slade to her and her heirs forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son James Long one negroe boy named Lew and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son William Long one negroe boy named Dave and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever.
Item - I give to my two children Elizabeth Long and Mary Long my two negroes namely Punch and Nan to be equally divided between them and their heirs at the marriage or death of my wife Ann Long.
Lastly - I nominate constitute and appoint my well beloved wife Ann Long Executrix and my two sons James Long and William my Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Will or Wills by me heretofore made allowing this only to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this 21st day of January 1785.

Appeared Joshua Leary personally and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that he saw and heard the within
named Andrew Long deceased sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within writing to be his last will and testament
and at that time he was of sound mind and memory the same time he saw Abraham Jennett a subscribing witness sign his name
thereto and further saith not.

Produced in court by William Long the last will and testament of Andrew Long deceased which was proved by the oath of Joshua Leary ordered to be recorded.
Also the said William Long qualifyed as executor to the said last will of A. Long deceased.
Also James Long son of Andrew qualifyed as executor to the said last will of Andrew Long deceased.
