In the name of God amen: I John Long Senr. of the County of Tyrrell and the State of North Carolina Planter being weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory but calling to mind that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. Principally I recommend my soul to God that gave it and at my death my body to the ground to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors - And as for what it hath pleased God to bestow on me of this worlds in this life I dispose of in manner and form following -

Imprimis - My Will and Desire is my just debts and funeral charges paid.

Item - My Will and Desire is that my son in law Ebenezer Spruill and my grand daughter Hannah Spruill keep what I have already given them and have one shilling Specie as a bar against any other part of my Estate.

Item - My Will and Desire is that my son in law Anthony Alexander and the heirs of my deceased daughter Keziah keep and possess all good and property I have already given them and have one shilling specie as a bar against any other part of my Estate.

Item - My Will and Desire is that my daughters Priscilla Waters and Darcas Simons have and keep all the goods and property I have already given them, and have one shilling specie as a bar against any other part of my Estate.

Item - I give and bequeath to my son John Long all my property that I now possess each and every of them to him ahd his heirs forever.

Lastly - I constitute nominate and appoint my well beloved son John Long and my trusty friend Isaac Long Executrors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other former Wills by me made acknowledgeing this my last Will and Testament - In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fix'd my seal this fifth day of May one thousand seven hundred and ninety 1790.

The last will & testament of John Long deceased exhibited into court by John Long his son and proved the same by the oath of Col. James Long, ordered to be recorded also qualifyed as executor to the said deceased last will.
