Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
October Session 1793
Ordered that Sarah Long widow of James Long son of Giles deceased have leave to administer on the estate of said deceased and give security in a bond of 2,000 pounds.
January Session 1794
Ordered that Joshua Slade administrator of James Long deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of said estate and make return to next court.
Ordered that Capt. Robert Davison Edmnd Blount Col. Jeremiah Frasier Esqr. & William Blount or a majority of them divide the estate of James Long deceased and make returns to next court.

Long, James, 1793
Note dated 21 Feb 1793 signed by James Long son of Giles and witnessed by James Long son of Andrew acknowledging a debt of 37 pounds & 10 shillings to Thomas Long of New England and promising to pay off the note in six months.
Administrator's bond dated 28 Oct 1793 in the amount of two thousand pounds appointing Sarah Long administrator of the estate of James Long son of Giles deceased with Thomas Stubbs Junr. & William Long securities.
Summons dated 23 Jul 1798 and issued 25 Sep 1798 for Joshua Slade administrator of James Long deceased to answer the plea of Thomas Long for a debt of 37 pounds & 10 shillings plus damages of 20 pounds.
Execution dated 17 Mar 1800 against the estate of James Long in the hands of Joshua Slade for 40 pounds, 3 shillings & 5 pence to be paid to Thomas Long.
