In the name of God Amen I William Long of the county of Tyrrell and state North Carolina farmer being veary sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my sole into the hand of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be burid in decent Christian burel at the decretion of my executrix nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall recieve the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching my worley estate whare with it hase pleased God to bless me with in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form - -

I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Kisier (?) Long whom I likewise constitute make and ordain the soul executrix of this my last will and testament all and singler my land messuages and tennement together with all my debts and persenal estate as well as real and of all propperty that I do or may possess or fall to me after death by her freely to be possessed and inioyd and I doe here by utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other formour testaments wills legacies bequests executors by me in any wise before named willed or bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness where of I have hear unto set my hand and seal this thirteen day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninty

Tyrrell County Oct Term 1790
Personally appeared Capt. John Dozier in court and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of almighty God that he saw and heard William Long within named sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within instrument of writing to be his last will & testament and at that time he was of sound, disposing mind & memory and at the same time he saw Joseph Godfrey Phelps and John Phelps subscribing witnesses sign their names thereunto and further saith not

Transcriber's Notes: Tyrrell marriage bonds have a William Long marrying Keziah Swain on 18 Feb 1788 with John Phelps as bondsman. If the William Long in the marriage bond is the same as the testator, that would explain there being no children mentioned in this will. Since Keziah was probably young it is likely she remarried. There are two possibilities in Tyrrell marriage bonds. Kezia Long married Edmund Howell 29 Oct 1793 with Richard Frasier & Jn. Frasier as bondsmen. Kezia Long married John Snell 27 Aug 1794 with Abijah Snell as bondsman.
