Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
April Session 1806
The administration on the estate of Jacob Litchfield was contested by Isaac Patrick who is to pay all cost that may accrue if he should fail proving the said Jacob is living.
Ordered that Elizabeth Litchfield have leave of administration on the estate of Jacob Litchfield deceased and hath given bond in the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Samuel Jackson and Stephen Hooker securities.
Ordered that Elizabeth Litchfield administrator of Jacob Litchfield have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of the said Jacob Litchfield and make returns to next court.
October Session 1806
Elizabeth Litchfield returned on oath in court the inventory and account of sales of Jacob Litchfield deceased and filed.
Ordered that Joseph Hassell James Hassell and Stephen Hooker Senr. and Paul Thoroughgood Esqr. be appointed to audite the estate of Jacob Litchfield and the same persons lay off the widow allowance for the year and make return to next court.
January Session 1807
The audited accounts and years allowance to Elizabeth Litchfield out of the estate of Jacob Litchfield was returned in court by Devotion Twiddey amount 7 pounds filed.
